Taco-less Tuesday

We were going to meet at Buffalo Inn for tacos tonight, but it was determined to be too hot to sit outside. So, the tacos have been postponed to next week. Well, I'm sure they were still available for those who went to BI, but we have postponed our consumption of buffalo tacos until next week.

Other than that, the day was pretty much another day in the life. Got up, went to work, came home, ate dinner, computered and am watching tv. Try to contain your jealousy.

Don't Know Who Is At Fault

Sure wasted my time this morning. Finally had my appointment at DMV to bring in the paperwork from the eye doctor. The first thing the guy does is ask me to read the eye chart. I explain to him that I can't read the eye chart with only my left eye, which is why the doctor filled out the forms stating that I am ok to drive. Apparently, no I'm not. Now I have to go back at the end of October and take a driving test, "just to make sure" that I can drive. Of course, they extended my current drivers' license so I can continue driving (even though I am too blind to do so). So, is the DMV at fault for telling me I only had to have the paperwork done (otherwise I would have taken the test a month ago) or is the eye doctor at fault for telling me that I was ok to drive? *sigh* I hate going to the DMV. By the way, according to the guy at the DMV, I am legally blind in my left eye.

Stopped off at Duh's on the way home from work to check up on George. He was very happy to see me. I made sure he had plenty of food and water, cleaned out his box and let him drink from the faucet for a while. Spent about 15 minutes or so, I guess.

Have to decide if I want to watch DWTS tonight, or the CBS lineup. I think I may go for the sitcoms. OH - forgot to post yesterday: The Kids came over to do laundry yesterday after we met for breakfast. They wanted to watch the DVDs of "Pushing Daisies" (or at least The Girl wanted to) and I reminded them that I only have the laptop, so we'd have to hook it up to the TV so everyone could see the show. They said they had to stop off "to get quarters for the washing machine". Well, what they actually did was go to Target and bought me a DVD player to replace the defective one I had! Wasn't that nice of them!!!

Today's picture is of my nephew Hoover, inspecting the All-iday prizes.

The All-iday

The All-iday is over and, in my humble opinion, was a great success. There was a nice turnout of people and all seemed to mingle and converse together well. Sis and Rafe should be very pleased with themselves!

I carpooled over with The Boy (we stopped for eggs Benedict at Tommy's on the way) and had a nice drive to LB. As we pulled up to the curb to park (about an hour early), we noticed that they had decorated the deck - isn't it cool? I'm sure Sis has posted a similar picture over at Needles & Spins but I couldn't resist. I just thought this guy was great! The rest of the house looked good, too -- they had rearranged a few things and set up a few more since I had been there last week. Of course, they have such an eclectic decorating style anyway, they really didn't need to do a bunch for the party. Dad and J also arrived early, and Dad gave us some of Auntie's jewelry. I have a couple of rings and a bunch of earrings. Probably won't wear a lot of the earrings but I'm keeping them because they were Auntie's. Dad also said he wants lists from us as to who wants what of his belongings so we don't have to sort through after he's gone. I'd rather he not leave.

More guests arrived, and the food was set up and people began eating. Everything was really yummy. People wandered and talked and socialized for a couple of hours. We played the Hand Slap game, which was technically won by Sis and MH2. However, since Sis didn't feel she should win a prize at her own party (even though she really really wanted one of them), there was a "sudden death" round between MH2 and the last two to be eliminated - The Boy and Warren. Unfortunately for The Boy, he was eliminated quickly. Prizes were distributed, opened and admired.

There was more conversation, and a few late arrivals which made for more mingling and talking. And eating, since it would have been rude to ignore the offerings of the new guests. We were the last to leave -- I got home about 11:00 or so. Happy, tired, and having forgotten my bowls. Can't wait for the Pirate Party next year! (there are a couple more pictures at Flickr)

Sometimes It Is Good

Today in particular, I am glad to be a temp where I am working. This weekend is inventory, and I don't have to participate! The "regular" employees had to come in for their regular shifts today. They are now at their dinner break (company is supplying food) and will start inventory at 6:00. They'll work a few hours tonight and then go back tomorrow to finish up. I, on the other hand, am sitting on my couch anticipating having bean 'n' cheese burritos in a little bit. I'll be watching the last couple of episodes of Pushing Daisies while I prepare my contribution for the All-iday. Then, tomorrow, while they are finishing up the inventory I'll be eagerly anticipating the party! I'm sure they'll be finished long before the 3:00 pm start time, but I won't be all tired and grumpy from having to work on a Saturday. I may be tired, and I may be grumpy, but it won't be because of work. So there.

I still can't believe the ineptness of the Fang tribe on Survivor: Gabon. They need to just vote off the entire tribe and put me out of my misery.

SURVIVOR!!!

Less than 3 hours until the two-hour season premiere of Survivor: Gabon! I have to be very careful to not go to the Survivor section at FoRT for the next few hours; I'll just stay away from the website until tomorrow. Don't want to accidentally find out stuff before it happens! Well, yes, I know it actually happened a couple of months ago but that doesn't count. I think "my" Survivor is going to be Matty. From what I've seen online, my first choice, Charles, is on the same tribe as Sis' guy so I'll go with the second choice. Doesn't matter, I just picked two names at random anyway.

My scratchy throat has gone away, but the nasal congestion and runny nose have intensified. I went to the pharmacy during lunch today and had the pharmacist advise me on what medicine to take. Took the first dose about 12:15 and was feeling a bit better by 1:30 or so. I haven't taken the second dose yet (it's supposed to be every 4 hours) because it made me a tad drowsy and I don't want to fall asleep before the end of Survivor tonight. Yes, I DO have my priorities straight, thank you very much!

Forgot to email Sis and ask if she's going to need me to come over early on Saturday. If not, I may see if The Boy wants to carpool.

I Refuse

to get sick. Even though my body is really, really trying for me to get sick, I refuse to do so. Ignore the fact that I've been fighting a headache since Monday and have now decided it isn't a headache so much as sinuses. Ignore the fact that I have a runny nose and a scratchy throat. I am NOT going to get sick. I have a party to go to on Saturday! And Survivor tomorrow night! Oh, great, now I'm sneezing. *sigh*

And We're Missing It!

Well, while at a late breakfast with The Kids and FM, I received a phone call from Duh. She wanted to know if I realized that today was the Chino chili-cookoff. Of course, I had known that a long time ago but had forgotten about it. What a bummer. Oooh, Red Lobster endless shrimp commercial... ok, I'm back. Needless to say, since it was already around noon, I didn't bother calling Sis to see if she wanted to rush over to Chino. Guess we just have to do without our fireman ... um, chili... fix for this year. Duh also asked if I wanted to meet for dinner either tomorrow or Tuesday, so there's something to look forward to.

Spent part of the afternoon puttering around the apartment, watched 2 episodes of Pushing Daisies and took a nap. About the time I was trying to decide what to do for dinner I received a text message from The Boy inviting me over for bbq chicken. So, I stopped at the store for an apple pie and some brownie bites and went to The Kids' place. Had a nice visit and a yummy dinner. Now wishing I had brought home a few of the brownie bites, but I don't really need them.

Think I'll watch one more episode of PD and then head to bed.

Yesterday

Had a good time yesterday! Went over to help Sis get ready for the All-iday party, since Rafe had to work. Actually, he had some time off during the week so there really wasn't a lot to do before getting started on the fun stuff. I got there around 10:00, and after greeting all the critters (and Sis, of course) we went to buy some prizes. Took longer than you would think, since we wanted a total of six things and had absolutely no idea what we wanted. Store clerks look at you odd when, after being asked if you need assistance looking for something they are told "No, it's kind of a 'we'll know it when we see it' situation." Anyway, I think we got some really nice things (one of which *I* really want and one that Sis wants to keep!) I don't think it would be fair, though, for me to win a prize since I helped pick them out. And our search took us all the way to the Cerritos mall, where I haven't been in ages. I'm not sure, but I think the last time was with Mom.

After shopping, we went to Johnny Rebs for lunch. Had pulled pork and mac-a-chee (glglglglglg). It was really, really good and I'd go back again anytime. Especially since Sis bought lunch.... The only thing I didn't care for was the cornbread; it just seemed a bit bland to me. And I could have put honey on it, but I was getting full anyway and wanted to finish the main course. So, I did. And felt like a pig because Sis only ate a bit more than half of hers. This was mainly because she'd had a larger breakfast than I had, but still. We even picked up an order of pork and mashed taters for Rafe to have when he got home from work.

We then went back to Sis' place to start decorating. Had a bit of a problem, because we couldn't find some of the boxes of stuff in the garage. They had gotten rid of a lot of things but there was still enough missing to be annoying. That, and the fact that their house is already mostly decorated anyway, made for an interesting afternoon. We then made another trip to try and find holiday-themed party supplies (plates, etc) and didn't have a lot of luck with that. The paper supply store we went to didn't look like it was a store at all so we didn't bother parking. Ended up at a Party City and found some nice things there. Unfortunately, most of the "holiday" stuff was Halloween and Autumn. We did get some "fiesta" stuff for Cinco de Mayo.

Made the mistake of not getting gas before leaving Long Beach (again) and ended up exiting the freeway in Irwindale (yes, I missed the 105 again) and then panicking because my gas light had been on for a while and I couldn't find a gas station. I didn't drive around looking, just stayed on the street that I exited from the freeway so that I wouldn't get lost (yes, the GPS unit would have helped, if she hadn't been on the side table at home). After finally getting gas I drove back towards the freeway - and there was no on-ramp for the north-bound traffic. Hmph. All in all, my hunt for gas and freeway took about 7 miles, I think. Anyway, got home safe.

Gonna meet the gang for breakfast today, and then probably putter around tidying up.

Hey, my email alert just popped up - I have a friend request from FoRT!!

Henry Has Been Serviced

(lucky Henry!)
Took him in to get an oil change, and all his fluids have been checked and topped off. He even has a new air filter and clean windows, and his interior was vacuumed. He's been in need of an oil change for a while and I was going to do it last week - in fact, on Tuesday but decided to have battery cable problems instead. Or was it Wednesday? Whichever .... he didn't get the oil change. I'm sure he is a much happier Xterra today.

Ended up at El Pollo Loco again for lunch. I wanted Taco Bell (yeah, I know) but there were about 8 or 9 cars in line at the drive up and I know how slow they generally are. So, I went next door and had a BRC burrito. Well, mostly an R burrito. There weren't a lot of beans and not much cheese. Fortunately, I like rice. Don't know what I want for dinner tonight; all I can think about is lunch tomorrow. Going over to Sis' to help her get ready for the All-iday and she has promised me Johnny Reb's for lunch. I've never been there but have heard a lot about it from her. Especially the mac-a-chee. Right now, I'm thinking pork ... hm, guess I could heat the microwavable pork roast for dinner. Won't be the same, but should be yummy. Maybe some noodles (nooeles??) of some kind and some yams. Or pork-n-beans. Now I'm getting hungry.

Guess that's it for now -- gonna call Dad before I forget again.

Gotta Read This

Ok, I found this link over on FoRT and am sitting here with tears of laughter rolling down my face. I don't know if it is really all that funny, but it sure hit me just right tonight!

http://www.mit.edu/people/wchuang/cooking/recipes/Roman/www/humor/college/student_bloopers.txt

Last Night

Well, let me preface this by saying that I had a good time. I really did. Really. However, I wouldn't say that we saw any comedians at the show last night. There were several people who took turns on stage, for about 2 hours worth of "entertainment". Too bad there was only about 10 minutes of actual comedy. The rest of the evening was filled with racial slurs, crude sexual comments and the "F" word. Seriously, if you want your audience to come back and spend money to see you, you really shouldn't be quite so rude.
"Do we have anyone here from Orange County?" Cheers and applause. "Well, F you!"
"Don't like us? We still have 18 minutes - F you!"

Had a nice time prior to the "show" while we were eating (oh my gosh, such a yummy prime rib sandwich!) and there were some funny moments but all things considered, I wouldn't pay to go see any of the comics who performed last night. Fortunately, we had free admission ... just a "2 purchase minimum".

Now I Get To Worry

There is a scared, hungry black bear running around San Dimas, so of course The Boy is going to try and get pictures. He isn't supposed to tell me this stuff! :-) Actually, he had called to see if there was anything on the news because all the networks had their news choppers flying around. Just called to let him know that ABC just came on with the story but he already knew. I know he is smart and will be careful, but I am his mom and I will worry. So there.

And yes, he looks brown but he is a black bear. Just like the one in San Dimas.

Missed A Day Of Posting

Mainly because I had nothing to say.

Never got a call yesterday from the temp agency, so I tried calling at lunchtime today. Gave the lady my name and was put on hold. She came back on the line and said "I'm on another call, hold on" and was gone. Since I had to be back at work, I hung up. Would have been nice if she'd stayed on the line long enough to take a message. Called again after work, and the person who answered the phone had trouble finding my name in the system. She then said, "Oh, you're working at Boyd." Well, no, they closed the office last year and that's why I'm working through the agency. She took a message and said she'd have her supervisor call tomorrow. So, I'm back to where I was 48 hours ago as far as info goes. I'd raise a big ruckus but they are the only agency finding me work....

Got a bit bummed last night. I was checking the new fall schedule online, and found that there is nothing I "have to watch" on Friday or Saturday nights. This is a good thing, because I don't have to have something every night. However, they have "Bones" and "Pushing Daisies" on at the same time on Wednesdays! My VCR won't let me watch one show and tape a different one, so I'm going to have to tape one and watch the other in the bedroom, then go back to the living room and watch the other. Or I could watch one of 'em online ... or save the tape for Friday night. Such a dilemma!

That's about it for now. Not a great picture posted, but this is the view from one of the Big Bear cabins that The Kids looked at. The view was wonderful, the cabin not so much.

We're All Gonna Die

Just visited the blog of my sister, and found a link to a video on YouTube. She's hoping it's a joke. I'm afraid that we are all going to die. I've yoinked her link and added it here, so you don't have to read both blogs. Although hers is a lot more interesting than mine is. Which is why I don't want you to read hers, because then you'd realize how totally pathetic mine is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c6HsiixFS8

Since I haven't heard anything from "my" agent at the temp agency (I tried emailing a couple times last week) I called today after getting home from work. Lo and behold - he no longer works there! Don't know why the email didn't ping back as undeliverable, but there you go. Anyway, the lady I talked to didn't really know anything about the position so she is going to check with her supervisor tomorrow and let me know. It would have been nice if the agency would have sent an email or made phone calls to let us know that our rep was no longer working there, and who our new rep would be.

Had a good dinner tonight - some microwave chicken, au gratin taters and green beans. Yum. I'm now waiting for my chogglit chip cookies to cool enough to eat.

Now I'm going to finish watching Big Bang Theory.

My Day

doesn't begin to compare with that of my sister, so I'm not even going to try and "beat" her post. Went to lunch with The Kids, went to Barnes & Noble and bought 5 books, watched Aviator. That's it!

Sleeping In

on a Saturday morning is a wonderful thing. Too bad I didn't take advantage of that today. Probably won't next week either, since I'm going over to help Sis get ready for the All-iday. I'm really looking forward to that - the All-iday, not the preparations - it's been several years since Sis has had the party so it should be fun. I mean, it always has been fun, but even more fun. Wonder who all will be there? And what will I bring? I'll have to go online and find a holiday that I can cook for.

I had been thinking about asking Duh if she wanted to roam the LA County Fair this year, but I think she's busy both weekends. That's ok, I can't afford to buy a sheep and have nowhere to keep one anyway. Heehee! And all that fried food would be really, really bad for me. I'll plan earlier next year and set up a day to go. That way I can save up some money for parking, admission, snacks and any gadget I decide to buy.

And now I just need to wait for my coffee to be ready.

Work Potluck

Today was the potluck at work for JR's birthday. It was a lot of fun; the accounting group are all friendly and easy to talk to. There was a lot of yumminess - 2 different types of enchiladas, rice, tater salad, "regular" salad, some crock-potted beef stuff that was really good. I was worried about my pasta salad, because I made quite a bit. Always like to have leftovers instead of not enough. When I went to get the pan out of the break room before coming home, it was pretty much empty. There were a couple small pieces of pasta stuck to the edges of the pan, but that's about it! I'm glad people liked it. In fact, one of the ladies went back for seconds and asked for the recipe...

Of course, this means I have no pasta salad for dinner.

Now I have another weekend ahead of me. I know I have to do laundry at some point, and would like to get Henry in for a wash and an oil change. FM is supposed to come by and check on the battery cable situation at some point (he wants to make sure everything is all cleaned up inside) but I don't know which day that will be. And I guess, technically, I don't have to be here for that. Henry does, but I don't. Of course, we all know the likelihood of me walking anywhere is nil so I guess I'll be here. Maybe I'll do my laundry while FM works on Henry.

And even though I'm sure I've posted one before, here's a picture of my Henry.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Wednesday

and Henry is fixed. FM came over last night and checked out the battery connector, went to the auto parts store and bought just the little connector thing (NOT the whole fuse box attachment) and replaced it. Took him about an hour and a half to remove the old connector because it had corroded so badly there was nothing to grab with the wrench to hold it still so he could remove the nut. I'm very proud of him - he didn't yell, cuss or throw tools. After getting the old part removed, the rest of the repair took about 10 minutes.

Stopped at the grocery store on the way home and picked up a few things. We are having a potluck at work (the AP & Credit departments) on Friday to celebrate JR's birthday. Since he's the boss it seemed like a good idea to participate. I'm bringing my famous sketti salad except I'm using tri-color rotelle instead of sketti. It's just more festive.

Anyway, that's it for now. I may post again later if I remember any of the things I thought about posting.

What A Day

On the way to work today, noticing how dirty Henry is, I decided I'd go to the car wash after work. Right next to the car wash is a place to get the oil changed, so I figured I'd take care of that, too (depending on the cost). So, lunchtime comes along and I am heading out to Taco Bell. At least, I was. Apparently the corrosion on my battery terminal was bad enough that it ate the attacher ring so it wasn't making contact and the car wouldn't start. One of the guys was going to jump start it for me but we figured the connection wasn't good enough.

So, The Boy came out to rescue me. Unfortunately, there's a big ole fuse box thingie on the battery cable/connector and according to the guy at the Nissan dealership the part and labor will be about $400 to fix. We were able to get it started and The Boy followed me home to make sure I made it here ok (which I did). FM is going to come by and see what he can do to fix it. I'm sure he won't be able to get it working without the proper parts, but you can't tell him that. I'll probably need The Girl to give me a ride to work and either her or The Boy come pick me up. What a hassle.

And since I couldn't get the car started, and turned down the offer of a lift to get lunch, I made do with a little package of goldfish crackers for lunch. Yum.

Well, That Was Odd

You know how, when there is a large fenced-in yard with several dogs in it, and someone goes by riding a bicycle accompanied by a dog on a leash, all the dogs in the yard chase along? Ok - picture that, except instead of 5 dogs in the yard substitute 5 cows. Yup, cows. It was really amusing ... and I wasn't in a position to be able to video it.

Went to dinner tonight with Duh. Had a good conversation, and a really yummy mushroom burger at Islands. Mmmm. And they now serve French fries with the burgers! Didn't get a lot of fries, but just enough to have a few left over. You know, so you don't feel like a pig for eating them all.

I'm adding two pictures today, from my trip to Big Bear yesterday. Both of which have been marked as "favorites" by The Boy!

Sunday, September 7, 2008

Well, I'm Tired!

Spent the day today with The Kids. We went to Big Bear, where they are hoping to be able to purchase a cabin sometime in the near future. Probably not as soon as they would like, but sometime soon. We left here a little before 8:00, and headed up the hill. We had breakfast at the Grizzly Manor Cafe, which is owned by ... let's see, what is the easiest way to phrase this. AJ, the son of my best friend, Duh, has a friend BB. The restaurant is owned by the parents of BB. I ate about 1/3 of a pancake. I know that doesn't sound like much but I had cut the pancake in half and "doubled it up" on the plate. It still covered the majority of the plate and was about an inch thick. The picture is of the side of the building, because I didn't think about taking it until we were leaving, and I was too lazy to go all the way around to the front.

After that, we drove around and looked at cabins for sale. About 35 of them, in all. Most were in the Sugarloaf area, which is where Dad's cabin was. Well, the cabin is still there but it isn't Dad's any more. And, speaking of the old cabin -- it sure looks different than I remembered it. The main change is that it is a lot closer to the street than I remember it being! However, we were pleasantly surprised to see the furniture out on the porch - it was two of the old kitchen chairs and the mosaic-y end table from the living room! Nice to know the old stuff is still around.

Looked after we looked at all the cabins on the list, we wandered around the "nature center" for a bit. Mainly a gift shop, but it had some nice stuff. Went to La Paws Inn for dinner (a taco and 2 enchiladas for me) and headed down for home. Got back to the area at about 7:00 and met FM for dessert while he had dinner. All in all, a pretty good day.

Oh, and I took pics of Easy's Market and the bar in Sugarloaf to send to Dad. They're posted on Flickr.

That Was, um, INteresting

Let me start my Saturday. It was a typical (for me) Saturday in that I lazed around most of the morning, then went to breakfast. Since I was by myself and for some reason not really hungry, I treated myself to a Starbucks mocha frap and a blueberry muffin. Muffin wasn't so great; I find that the "fat free" stuff at Starbucks is better than the "fat full" stuff. Should have gone with the FF coffee cake I had planned on. Oh well. I then treated myself to a pedicure. Total indulgence that I couldn't afford but it felt SO good. And now my toes are (relatively) pretty.

I then went and wandered around The Mall. Didn't spend a lot of time there since most of the stores are geared towards the younger crowd. I did, however, have to pass through Barnes and Noble twice (they have the best parking). Did really well on the way INTO the mall, just glanced at titles on the way from one door to the other. The way out of the mall wasn't quite as inexpensive. Only bought 2 books, continuations to one that I bought a week or two ago. These are fantasy, of the werewolf/vampire genre.

Went back home for a couple hours and then it was off to SK's house for a, um, shall we say ... um, a "ladies" party - although some of those ladies were quite, um, wild? We were shown things that make you smell good, things that make you taste good, and apparently they have a product that makes you feel good all by yourself, with no effort expended. (I have to be careful because my son reads this). And then there was the vast assortment of BOBs. You know, battery-operated boyfriends. For the record - I purchased nothing. Nada. Zip. There was one item I kinda liked, a light powder that gives just a very slight sparkle to your skin. And doesn't taste like powder if you accidentally get some in your mouth. I liked the "sparklieness" of it, but $18.50 for a sparkle powder seems a bit expensive. Especially since I don't think anyone in my living room would be impressed by my new "sheen"! hahaha.

A few of the ladies were going out to a bar afterwards; I declined the offer. Partly because most of them were meeting their men there, partly because I don't drink, and partly because it was already 9:45, I had a 40 minute drive home and had to be up and functioning this morning.

Going to Big Bear with The Kids today. They are looking at cabins; I am getting my butt off the couch.

Don't Know Which Is Worse

they way I read it, or what it actually said! Now, bear in mind, the company I work for has absolutely nothing to do with body parts. Nothing at all. So why did I read the part description as "nipple toss"? And it actually said "nipple toe abs". The part is some kind of a valve, or a part for a valve, or something like that. Anyway, I had a little private chuckle over it.

Also had a little chuckle over a company name I saw today ... "Weiss Guys Car Wash".

Guess that's about it. The fruit guy didn't come today so I have no grapes, and I was really craving them, too. Maybe he'll come tomorrow instead.

Taco Bell - FAIL!

Went to Taco Bell for lunch today. They were having a few problems. Apparently, they had an equipment failure and couldn't make half their menu, including and not limited to chalupas, Mexican pizzas and nachos. Of course, they didn't post this at the door; you had to get up to the register and then the employee showed you a little sheet of paper with the list. Fortunately, I didn't want any of these items. They also were out of the spoon-straws that come with the Fruitista drinks (good thing I didn't want one of those, either). Oh - and when they opened this morning, they only had about 4 serving trays, so everyone got their food in a bag. Sheesh.

Tonight is the 2 hour season premier for Bones!

I Can Has Cheezburger

Sis has a picture in the "upcoming" category for the loldogs! Yay!

Jury Duty - FAIL!

Well, as of 6:30 this morning, I still received the default message when I called the JD number, so I went online and discovered the exact same thing. Show up at 7:45, and call after 7:00 last night for more information. Figured I'd rather show up and have them tell me to go home than to not show up and have them come look for me. Drove to Riverside and found myself in a room full of prospective jurors at a courthouse that has no trials pending. The "lady in charge" had us all wait until she could get in touch with someone in LA (which is where the summonses are sent from). After waiting for a while, she came back to let us know that we were excused and just had to get our summons scanned into the system so we could get paid for the day. I was at work by 9:15, only took a 15 minute lunch, stayed until 4:30 and only lost an hour of work. Not bad, I guess. Would have preferred eliminating the whole wasted trip to Riverside, but I can deal with that.

After work I had some time to kill before meeting FM and Duh at Buffalo Inn for tacos. Went to Borders and wandered around for a bit. As I was leaving, I witnessed an accident. The lady in the vehicle in front of me was making a right-hand turn out of the parking lot and hit a man on a bicycle. I stopped and got out to make sure he was ok - he got up right away and said he was find. I asked if he wanted me to call 911 and he said no, he was equally at fault since he was on the wrong side of the street. The lady checked on him, and then moved her vehicle off his bike. When I went back to Henry to write my name and number down for them both, he told her to go ahead and leave because she had no damage to her car. I gave him my number, but she was already gone so I couldn't give it to her.

And how was your day?

9/3/08 6:34 edited to change the order of the names, as requested in the comment.

9/3/08 5:27 re-edited. After waking up a bit, I realized that "F and Duh", when read, sounds like I'm swearing.

Fine. I'll Post Again.

So, I had to call tonight after 7:00 to find out about possibly Jury Duty tomorrow. All I get is a recording telling me that I'm scheduled to appear at 7:45 am, and to call back tonight after 7 pm for instructions. This is the same recording I got last week when I called in the afternoon; and when I called after 7 I got the recording telling me to I was excused for the week but to call tonight. So, do I drive all the way out to Riverside in the morning just to (hopefully) find out that I'm not needed? What a waste of gas that would be. Guess I'll try calling again before I go to bed and hopefully I'll get the recording with the instructions.

TV

Don't feel like posting today, so all I'm going to say is this: I think the last time I watched the Ellen Degeneres Show was on Memorial Day. Today, they are re-running that episode.
